Calo is seeking overnight youth mentors for immediate hire. The night shift is 9 p.m. to 9 a.m.

The youth mentor position is essentially a life-coaching job. Mentors model how to interact with peers, talk about life in productive ways, and provide positive role-modeling. The typical night shift includes supervision of the students and ensuring student safety.

Calo is a treatment center for children (Calo refers to children as “students”) ages 9-18. Most Calo students are adopted and experienced early childhood trauma prior to their adoption. Students come to Calo from all over the United States and stay in treatment for about a year. A requirement for enrollment is that the child has regular contact with safe and committed parents who are part of the treatment process.

The overnight youth mentor position is essentially just that—a mentoring experience to the lives of young people. Mentors will model healthy communication skills, physical and emotional boundaries, regulation ability, and a many other attributes.

All Overnight mentor positions are 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week and every other Saturday. The position also provides paid training and supervision. Overnight youth mentors are full-time, with competitive pay, fantastic benefits including health insurance, dental, vision, long-term disability, paid time off, and 401K! In addition, you will become CPR and First aid certified. It is an incredibly rewarding job to participate in the healing of a child’s life forever.
