Mid-City Lumber Company is a longstanding local business that strives to provide customers with quality products, friendly and knowledgeable staff, and fast delivery. We offer a casual work environment with a family atmosphere. We are currently looking for someone to join our Sales team.

Job Duties:
• Handle walk-in customers and phone orders; generate sales tickets and complete transactions
• Generate purchase orders and place special orders with vendors
• Assist customers with inside purchases and provide information on display products
• Assist salesmen with customer orders and ordering special order items
• Participate in physical inventories for the purpose of verifying stock

This is a full-time position, Monday-Friday. After a 90-day probationary period, the following benefits are available: Health, Dental, Vision insurance and company-paid life insurance. 401k plan with company match (once plan requirements met), free local telemedicine and employee discounts.

Required Experience: Job Requirements:
• Must have good communication skills.
• Must have experience in construction and/or building materials.
• Functional literacy with personal computers and the MS Windows operating system is required. Good keyboarding and 10-key skills needed. Experience with, and efficient use of, standard office equipment (phone, fax, printer, copier, scanner, postage machine) is required.
• The physical requirements for this job include (working inside); sitting at a desk and walking/standing on a tiled or carpeted surface in a climate-controlled area for much of the work shift. Stair climbing is required. All motor skills normally used in grasping, lifting, bending, turning, and carrying (minimum of 50 lbs.) are necessary. Correctable vision and hearing are needed.
• Must be able to understand written and oral instructions. Must be able to follow multi-step instructions.
• Flexibility in required in working with fellow co-workers and customers.
• Performance of any other duties that may be assigned by the supervisor.

Education and Experience Requirements:
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Experience in construction and/or building materials
Required Education: High School Diploma / GED
